2025 Mooring Registry Fees

At the start of 2025, the Turkish government implemented significant changes to mooring registry fees through the 96th General Communiqué on the Fees Law. This legislation, which applies to vessels registered in Turkey’s mooring registry, brings notable updates for individual boat owners and professionals in the maritime transport and fishing industries. These updates not only reflect adjustments in administrative costs but also reveal the government’s strategic priorities for the maritime sector.

Mooring Registry Fees for 2025

The annual fees for mooring registry certificates, based on the vessel’s length, are as follows:

   •      0-5 meters: Exempt from fees

   •      5-7 meters: 5,037.50 TL

   •      7-9 meters: 7,196.50 TL

   •      9-12 meters: 10,794.70 TL

   •      12-15 meters: 21,589.50 TL

   •      15-20 meters: 35,982.50 TL

   •      20-30 meters: 71,965.00 TL

   •      Over 30 meters: 143,930.00 TL

Fee Calculation: The fee is calculated based on the duration of the certificate, which can range from 1 to 5 years. The total fee is determined by multiplying the annual rate by the chosen validity period.

   •      For instance, a 6-meter vessel with a 1-year certificate will incur a fee of 5,037.50 TL, while a 5-year certificate will cost 25,187.50 TL.

Measurement Guidelines: When determining the vessel’s length, any measurement under 1 meter is disregarded.

Exemptions: Vessels used exclusively for maritime transportation or fishing activities are exempt from mooring registry fees.

Strategic Implications for Turkey’s Maritime Policies

One of the most striking aspects of the 2025 fee structure is the fee exemption for vessels engaged in maritime transportation and fishing activities.
